Powermac Table

September, 2025

Over the summer of 2025 I made a table out of a PowerMac G5 and 2012 Mac Pro (both non functional). I was originally inspired by similar designs I saw online, but I wanted to challenge myself to make it from start to finish.

First, I modeled the PowerMac G5 in Autodesk Inventor and modeled the shape I wanted the tabletop to be. I decided to use 3D Printing to match the precise curves of the chassis and a sheet of plywood for the rest of the table top. Below is the CAD mockup I based my 3D prints on.

Next I began manufacturing by 3D printing the edge pieces and cutting the plywood to shape. Below is an in-progress photo showing this combination.

Lastly, I covered the entire surface with a wood veneer to create the illusion of a single table top. If you look underneath the final product, you can see this.
